Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
(Psalm 119:105)
It’s Monday, O God.
Another week is ahead of me.
A new week, a new beginning.
A new opportunity for me to walk in your Way.
Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
I need your light to shine
and show me the way I should go.
I need your light to go before me,
I need your light to go before me,
that I may see your Way,
and walk in it.
If I let your word be written upon my heart,
then I will carry your light with me,
and I will know how to live.
If I let your word be written upon my heart,
then the path I take
will be the one you have shown to me.
Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
It’s Monday.
For the week that is ahead of me,
I pray that I will be guided by your word.
Speak to me Lord.
Show me the way.
Open my eyes and my heart to your word.
Let your word be the light that I follow.
Let the path I take this week
be illumined by your precious word.
Through Christ, who said,
“One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Amen.
During the season of Lent, I am "Praying with David," using prayers found in the psalms as inspiration for my personal prayers.
